Shared Interest Groups

Connection grows from shared interests.
Shared Interest Groups (aka “SIGs”) are organized around common interests and are a core offering of Rhinebeck at Home.

Gather with fellow members to play games, work on puzzles, walk country roads, visit local gardens, attend Met Live opera broadcasts, explore museums, or simply sit down for thoughtful conversation. Most groups begin with a simple idea: Would anyone else like to do this together?

Arts & Culture
For members who enjoy the creative and cultural life of our region. Groups may focus on visual art, film, music, theater, opera, or hands-on creative pursuits, with outings and shared experiences as a foundation.

Games & Puzzles
Social, low-pressure gatherings built around friendly play. These groups might include board games, card games, bocce, or puzzles—often as much about connection as competition.

Nature, Outdoors & Exploration
For those who like to stay active and curious outdoors. Groups may involve walking, hiking, cycling, gardening, birding, or exploring the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley.

Reading, Learning & Conversation
Groups for members who enjoy ideas and dialogue. These include book discussions, salon-style conversations, and informal learning shaped by shared curiosity.

Civic Engagement & Community Action
For members interested in staying informed about local and national issues. Groups provide space for discussion, reflection, and thoughtful engagement in matters that affect our community.

Members sign up based on their interests and receive notices and invitations to upcoming gatherings. Typically, one or two members convene a group, and once formed, members decide together on direction, activities, and scheduling.
